In times of major change, there is always opportunity somewhere. You just have to have the wherewithal to look for it. And there’s no doubt, that the current all-hands-on-deck-social-distancing-work-from-home-don’t-go-out world we live in, is a major disruptance to life and to business.
Before I get into the silver linings, let me acknowledge that for a lot of businesses this is a nightmare and very well may threaten their very existence. I feel for those businesses, business owners, and employees. This is terrifying.
But for some businesses, this pandemic is not threatening their existence, although it is being a major disruptor to their operations. You’re the people I’m talking to right now.
With nearly every employee out of the office right now, this is the perfect time to re-paint your office. This is a good idea for two reasons:
#1: With no one in the office, this work will have zero interruption in your office productivity. Which usually isn’t the case.
Many offices have to have partial shutdowns, or pay extra to have crews come in overnight or on weekends to get the painting done without impacting their teams. Well now is the ideal time to avoid that little headache. Perhaps you’ve recently gone through a rebrand, or over time your walls have become banged up, or maybe the colour on the walls is just ugly and you’re ready to get rid of it. Whatever it is, when you know, you know. Ya know?
#2: A fresh coat of paint on the walls, and improved colours are proven to not only increase productivity, but also improve employee morale.
