OH WHAT A DIFFERENCE A COAT OF INTERIOR PAINTING MAKES!

JDavis Painting brings a highly experienced and professional team who treats your space with the same TLC as if we were painting the houses of our own Moms. And they’re PICKY!

Oh, and we’re the only painting company that offers three years of free touch-ups.

Here’s what you’ll find on this page:

What We Paint

To be honest, you can paint just about everything. Although we don’t always recommend it! (We’ve seen painted wallpaper, painted tubs, and in one case a very unhappy painted tabby cat.) Here are the most common services we offer for interior painting:

Interior Pricing Guide

You may be asking yourself, “How much should I budget for a good painter?”.

This is a really tough question to answer. The price of a paint job is driven by a few important factors, including, but not limited to:

These are the more obvious direct inputs that affect the price. And it’s because of these unknowns that most paint contractors are hesitant to provide a price over the phone. But, we understand that it is helpful to have some expectations as to what you’re walking into, so we created a little guide on pricing. (But you can’t hold us to it!) This is for two coats on all surfaces:

6 STEP PROCESS TO MAKE YOUR HOME MORE BEAUTIFUL WITH INTERIOR PAINTING

STEP 1: BEGINNING YOUR INTERIOR PAINTING JOURNEY

Good Morning!

We typically arrive at 8:30am, but will show-up at a time that best fits your schedule. Our crew will introduce themselves, take off their shoes, and re-confirm the day’s plan (double-checking colours, contractual elements, and any final details).

If you like, we’re happy to bring coffee.

good morning

STEP 2: SAFEGUARDING YOUR SPACE FOR INTERIOR PAINTING

Cover & Protect

After you (or our team) have gently moved any valuables (art, electronics, keepsakes, etc.) from the area, we’ll begin protecting the workspace. We’ll use plastic for furniture, drop cloths for floors, and seals to keep dust out of those (cough, cough) ventilation systems.

If you need to leave for work, we’ll wish you a great day!

Protect

STEP 3: PERFECTING WALLS FOR QUALITY INTERIOR PAINTING

Prep

The most important part of every job is the prep! We’ll deal with any imperfections on walls (i.e. filling/drying holes with spackle, sanding surfaces, and applying spot priming to prevent flashing). Once smooth, surfaces are scuff sanded & wiped to provide a good paint bite and uniform finish.

Pro-tip: even if you don’t use JDavis Painting, please make sure your contractors incorporate this step, or else the end result may not meet your expectations.

STEP 4: INTERIOR PAINTING BEGINS – CRAFTING SMOOTH FINISHES

Time to Paint!

Time to crack-open the paint and cut some tight lines. Our team starts by cutting corners so they’re always rolling onto a wet edge, providing the smoothest and most consistent finish. Before you know it, you’ll be saying Ooh, la la!

FYI: even painters have our own lingo…remind us to tell you what it means to “pickle” a paint roller.

STEP 5: INTERIOR PAINTING PROGRESS UPDATES & SATISFACTION CHECKS

The Daily Check-in

With JDavis Painting, you’re always “in the know!” We’ll touch base at the end of every day (either in-person or via written progress reports on the kitchen counter) to let you know what we’ve accomplished, when we’ll be arriving next, and what we’ll be doing. We wrap every day with a full clean-up!

By making sure you’re absolutely satisfied every step of the way, we’re able to address and tackle any items as they arise. Didn’t Tony Robbins say something similar?

STEP 6: COMPLETING YOUR INTERIOR PAINTING JOURNEY WITH SATISFACTION

The Final Day!

On the last day of the job, we’ll walk through the space with you for a final inspection. Given our ongoing communication throughout the process, this is typically a smooth and swift final step. After the job is approved and accounts are settled, you can kick-back, relax, and enjoy your stunning new look!

Our crew will provide a full clean-up and remove all equipment from your property. Remember: we don’t ask for a final payment until you’re completely satisfied!

INTERIOR PAINTING FAQ

Absolutely! We've got you covered. Just let us know your desired colour and sheen (don't worry, we can help you choose), and we'll take care of picking up the paint. No runs to the paint store for you!

Ah, the timeless question. While every project is unique, our average job size is around 5 days. For walls, ceilings, and trim, you can generally expect 1-2 days per room. Small rooms like kids' bedrooms or normal-sized washrooms usually take up most of a day, while big rooms like a spacious primary bedroom or living room may require a bit more time. And if we're just tackling walls, you can cut that time in half. Let the painting marathon begin!

We've got a colourful arsenal of different paints for various situations. Our go-to favourites are Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore. Rest assured, we'll find the perfect blend to bring your vision to life.

Absolutely! Safety first, right? Which is why we have insurance coverage to protect you, your property, and even our own paint-splattered selves. Accidents are as rare as a unicorn sighting, but if something unexpected were to happen, we've got you covered. Our insurance ensures that everyone involved can enjoy peace of mind, while we focus on creating a painting masterpiece for you.

Before you let any trade work their magic in your home, you should always ask to see their COI (Certificate of Insurance)  and WSIB (Worker Safety and Insurance Board) Clearance Certificate. We've got you covered in that department. You can download our COI here and our WSIB number is 8328545.

We are also proud members of the WSIB Health and Safety Excellence Program. Just another reason to feel confident in choosing us.

Oh no, we're not that kind of painter! Once we start on your project, we're committed to seeing it through. Your walls have our undivided attention, and we won't leave you hanging for another gig. We're in it for the long haul!

Just keep in mind, we strongly believe in a healthy work-life balance and our painters don’t work on the weekends. They’ll be committed to your job, Monday to Friday, and then back again the following Monday to continue the work until your project is complete.

We're masters of the art of protection! We use cloth drop sheets to cover floors and plastic to shield precious items that can't be drop-sheeted. We're like talented painters by day and gift-wrapping superheroes by night. Need something wrapped? Just ask anyone on our team. We're always ready to lend a hand and turn your paint job into a present!
